About the JCDA

The Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas (JCDA) were founded in 1926. The JCDA offers Catholic girls a tremendous opportunity to engage themselves in spiritual growth, leadership and service while they remain under the protective umbrella of our Catholic faith. Among the major benefits to being a Junior are the strong friendships that are formed and the deepening of their shared Catholic faith.

WHO CAN JOIN? Catholic girls ages 6 to 18 years.
GOAL: To help girls enrich their lives through service to others in their church, community, and the world.
MOTTO AND PURPOSE: Be useful “with the mandate to “love God, serve others, and live nobly.”
GOALS:

  • Develop character as a Catholic
  • Learn to work for the good of others
  • Grow spiritually in their Catholic faith
  • Be creative and flexible

           
Local Court’s Purpose:

  • Enhance member’s spiritually growth and development as a Christian.
  • Promote the development of self-identity, personal growth and peer group relationship.
  • Provide service for the good of your Parish, community and others.
  • Learn responsibility, leadership, group dynamics and decision-making skills. 

How To Join

If you are a Catholic girl 6 to 18 years old, or the parent or relative of one, and you know of a JCDA Court within your parish or community, it’s easy to become a member. To join, fill out the JCDA Application below and email it to California’s CDA Youth/JCDA Chairperson, Maribel Lara or if you live in another state contact our National Youth/JCDA Chairperson, Yvette Griego at  yvettegriego.cda@gmail.com
